All of our children are members of the Pupil Learning Council. We meet at least twice a term to talk about how we learn, what we are enjoying about school and how we can get better at learning. We talk about lessons, school values, fundraising, how to improve the playground, Eco School topics and other things.
The big ones take turns of chairing the meetings and of being the minute taker. We have a comments box in the hallway and anyone can write things that they want to talk about and put them in the box for the next meeting.
The children at Applecross Primary School have a strong voice and this is part of the ethos of the school. The children value fairness and are encouraged to look out for others when they see that things may not be fair in the playground or in the classroom. They have helped shape the school code and conduct and are aware that they are responsible for each other.
